Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant

Get information

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant is one of the advanced applications of the FUE method, in which special sapphire blades are used at the channel-opening stage.

The procedure starts under local anaesthesia by taking suitable grafts one by one with the FUE method from the nape between the two ears. Until implantation, the grafts are kept in special solutions under cold-chain conditions. They are then prepared and placed one by one into the channels opened with sapphire blades.

In the Sapphire FUE technique, dense and controlled micro channels are opened with sapphire blades in the recipient area. The size, direction and angle of the channels are planned according to the structure of the grafts and the natural exit direction of the existing hair.

1

How Is Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant Performed?

Before a sapphire hair transplant, the hair structure, the capacity of the donor area, the current density and the bald areas are assessed.

The hairline and the areas to be transplanted are planned according to the person's face structure, existing hair and expectations. The method is not chosen only by the patient's preference; the hair structure, the extent of hair loss and the needs are assessed by a specialist and the right technique is determined.

At the implantation stage, the grafts are placed one by one into the micro channels opened with sapphire blades, taking their natural direction and angle into account.

This way the placement is planned to suit both the structure of the recipient area and the natural direction of the existing hair.

2

When Can Sapphire FUE Be Preferred?

Sapphire FUE hair transplant is a method that can be considered especially when the bald area is large and a higher number of grafts is needed.

In particular, it can be a suitable option for:

  • People with extensive hair loss
  • People who need a high number of grafts
  • People with large bald areas at the front, middle and crown

However, Sapphire FUE is not applied the same way for everyone. The capacity of the donor area, the thickness of the hair, the size of the bald area, the current density and the person's expectations are assessed together.

For this reason, when choosing a hair transplant method, the specialist's assessment matters as much as the patient's wish.

The Channel-Opening Stage with Sapphire Blades

One of the key features of Sapphire FUE is the use of special sapphire blades at the channel-opening stage.

The channels opened with sapphire blades are planned according to the size of the grafts. Their direction, angle and placement are determined based on the natural exit directions of the existing hair.

Especially in high-graft transplants over large areas, planning the channel-opening stage correctly is an important part of the process.

The aim is to place the grafts evenly in the recipient area and plan the growth direction of the hair to match the existing hair.

4

Controlled Channel Opening and Graft Placement

Using sapphire blades allows more controlled work at the channel-opening stage.

Creating channels that fit the grafts helps reduce unnecessary strain on the surrounding tissue during implantation.

The direction and angle of each channel are determined according to the natural hair structure of the area.

The aim is not only to implant a high number of grafts but to achieve a natural, balanced placement that respects the existing hair structure and the features of the area.

5

After the Procedure

After a Sapphire FUE hair transplant, mild redness, sensitivity and crusting may be seen in the treated area. These effects vary from person to person.

The first wash is done on day 3. From the third day, the care and washing method recommended by our clinic is used.

In the first days it is important to protect the treated area and follow the care instructions. Within about 10 days, crusting is largely over and the grafts settle in.

Shock loss may be seen in the implanted hair in the first months. During this period the grafts beneath the shed hairs remain in the skin.

New hair starts to grow from around the 3rd month. In the following months it continues to grow longer, thicken and become denser.

The overall look of the hair comes together within 8 months to 1 year, varying from person to person.

6

Follow-Up and Care for Up to 1 Year

At Nilhair, we do not see a hair transplant as limited to the day of the procedure.

We follow our patients for 1 year after the procedure. During this time, hair growth, density and overall appearance are assessed at regular intervals.

The care process follows recommendations given personally to each patient. Because hair growth differs from person to person, progress is assessed throughout follow-up and specialist advice is shared when needed.

The aim is not only to perform the transplant but to follow the patient's process until the result is achieved.

7

Why Can Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant Be Preferred?

Sapphire FUE is a technique that can be used especially for large bald areas and transplants planned with a high number of grafts.

Taking the grafts one by one with FUE, opening the channels in a controlled way with sapphire blades and placing each graft in its natural direction require the different stages of the procedure to be planned as a whole.

A successful hair transplant is not determined only by the device or blade used. Correct assessment of the donor area, graft planning, channel directions, graft placement and post-procedure follow-up must be considered together.

For this reason, whether the Sapphire FUE method suits a person is determined by a specialist assessment before the procedure.
